These hydraulic quick-connect couplings are designed for heavy-duty applications. The female coupling body is made of chrome-plated steel, while the male coupling and the female coupling's locking sleeve undergo a hardening process to ensure high pressure resistance and fatigue strength. They feature a dual-seal design, are leak-free, and include a safety self-locking function.
This type of coupling allows for the rapid connection and disconnection of fluid lines without the need for tools; it is available in two structural configurations: double-shutoff (valved at both ends) and open-flow (unvalved at both ends).
The double-shutoff quick-connect coupling consists of a coupling body, a check valve core, an outer sleeve, steel balls, springs, and seals. Each coupling body contains an internal check valve. When the two bodies are disconnected, the check valve cores extend under spring pressure and seat against the conical bore of the coupling body, sealing the passage and preventing oil from leaking out of the lines. When connected, the push-rods at the tips of the valve cores meet, forcing the cores away from the conical bores and allowing fluid to flow between the lines; the bodies are locked together by steel balls, which are held in the coupling body's U-shaped groove by the outer sleeve under spring tension.
While easy to disconnect, this type of coupling has a relatively complex structure and incurs higher localized flow resistance; it is suitable for pipeline systems conveying oil or gas.
The open-flow quick-connect coupling differs from the double-shutoff version only in that it lacks internal check valves, meaning the flow path is not sealed when the coupling bodies are separated. One end connects to a hose via a three-segment hose fitting, with the fitting's core inserted directly into the quick-connect coupling.
